~JB, Braves Blog update, Iced Coffee, Bald spot developing from head scratching.
Last night as I headed to the Ted, I was feeling optimistic. Feeling good about the weather. Feeling good about Chipper’s second night back. Even feeling good about Campillo on the mound. Feeling like we’re gonna gain some ground tonight.
We know how the story plays out from here though. Chipper didn’t disappoint but the rest of my Bravos did.
Now if there’s a dead horse in the room I don’t like to be the one to kick it along with everyone else. So forgive me for bringing this up.
JF”K” has somehow adopted Andruw Jones’ role in the lineup this year and has evolved into the player I most cringe to watch. To be fair, I’ve defended him adamantly. I spoke about his funk as something he could easily get out of and a slump every major leaguer goes through. But it’s so bad now that Frenchy is in danger of visiting Richmond to see if he can find a way to repair his swing. I’m not just rubbing it in, but to understand the direness, Jeff left another 4 runners on base last night and the only time he didn’t strike out he grounded into a bases loaded DP. Now yes, it did bring a runner home. But when trailing 5-1 even a strikeout is less demeaning than a DP with no outs and the bases loaded.
They Tried to Make Me Go to Rehab…
There’s only speculation as to what move is made next but at this point it’s way past “that bad”. If anything, a trip to Triple AAA will be a bruise to his pride and a real disappointment for the fan favorite but let’s face it, he won’t get traded and the Braves aren’t giving up on The Natural. Richmond could be a career saving move.
Last night was a tough loss to take. It’s the fifth loss in a row to the Phreakin’ Phillies and it was at home.
Talk about Phrustrating. (These “PH” jokes doin’ anything for ya?)
Good news is we’ve got Jurrjens on the mound. I love watching him pitch and maybe he can salvage this embrassing series for us before Houston comes to town.
Maybe.
Don’t Stop Choppin’ and
No, Steven Perry. We won’t…

I dunno if they would do it, but it seems like its a distinct possibility before the All Star break.

Hey, I love the new header! Anybody would be better in the lineup than Jeff. I hope to see Jones or Shafer in right when houston comes to town.

Well this news is not how I wanted to start my 4th and vacation! I was thinking about making a trip to the ATL to see a game but now I for sure am staying home if Jeff is not there! Hope he gets his groove back soon!

Well JB, It appears that your blog was very prophetic concerning Frenchy. I hope to see him take advantage of the time in the minors along with being with his old batting coach to see if he can get that “old Swing” back.
If he takes advantage of the time while back down along with getting some of the pressure off him maybe it will all work for the best.
