As much as I love throwbacks, I think there’s a reason why the Era of the Powder Blue Uni’s came to an end.
Yet for some inexplicable reason, the Jays and and Royals are detirmined to bring them back.
Yikes. I just really hope this doesn’t revive the trend to have every team in baseball who never had a shred of powder blue in their uni’s all of a sudden adopt it as their road duds. Ugh.
Even though that trend has started with the color black in uniforms lately (ie. Mets, Royals). But that’s a horse of a different color. Ahem. Anyways…
The real story is Jair Jurrjens. What more can be said about tonight’s performance? Two pitchers took the hill for the Braves neither gave up a run, one gave up only 3 hits, and the Braves take one on the road.
In so doing we are now….
One game away from .500
3.5 games out of first with the Phillies to come.
And Jurrjens got an eighth win. Gonzalez snagged his 3rd scoreless inning in 4 appearances since reactivation, although not a save opportunity, is looking like our go-to ninth inning specialist. Very encouraging.
Maybe all Tex needed was the pressure of not having Chipper in the lineup. I don’t know how Jones’ absence could help Mark but all of a sudden… well, he doesn’t suck.
Two for 3 with 3 RBI’s and closing back in on .300. Frenchy was hitless again but that’s a dead horse of another color.
Our other 8 game winner Hudson takes the hill tomorrow @ 1:07 pm (weird game time) against 2-2 John Parrish. The Blue Jays decided to use Parrish’s mugshot for his team photo. Fortunately he had on his Jays cap when he was arrested.
Keep Choppin’ and avoid any dark ally occupied by John Parrish,
JB

Could be the worst uni’s I have ever seen. The Astro’s have had some bad one’s too.

The Astro’s had those multi-orange jerseys and caps that looked like they all worked at a Gulf Station.
