Uh oh. Soriano. Gonzalez. And now Moylan. Our three best bullpen arms are all on the shelf now. Moylan is coming back to Atlanta for an MRI.
This injury thing has gotten really bad, really fast. This kind of stuff puts stress on the entire pitching staff. Manny Acosta is now our go-to guy, and that frightens me. Who would have thought Wren would have to make some kind of deal for a ‘pen arm so early? Frank, just don’t expend any piece of our future for some stiff. Don’t do it.
I’m not too optimistic right now. We’re in trouble.

[...] Moylan goes down with elbow problems. Odd, as he’s a sidearmer and there should be less elbow strain for a sidearmer. [...]

hey got here a little late. Long story. Nothing like sweating it out at a 10-2 game.
July 20, 2008 at 2:07 pm
I didn't get a chance to see Jo Jo but Buddy isn't looking any better. Finally got out of the inning after three homers in the half. Terrible.

you're cheating on me with DOB? Prado just dlubled our run total with a dinger
July 20, 2008 at 2:19 pm
I wouldn't call it "cheating", persay. Not ordering, just lookin' at the menu. LOL WOW! How could we ever live without Chipper? He's a machine! Before that gapper, I was thinkin' "hey, only 4 more 2-run HRs and we're right back in this thing!"
July 20, 2008 at 2:25 pm
Yeah pretty much chipper is my homeboy
July 20, 2008 at 2:27 pm
I'm glad you're not "ordering" ha! It's all good. Thanks for keeping me company. JB is getting crispy at the Ted

It looks pretty hot down there today. Folks in the stands are sweatin' like pigs. Do you have your rally cap on?? Do it up, pal!! WTH happened to our pitching today!? I don't get it! My 10-year-old could do a better job at getting outs than these yayhoos.
July 20, 2008 at 2:34 pm
nunez gives his 1st run and the 13th of the day. The rally cap is coming on soon. But we need 8 fast.
July 20, 2008 at 2:35 pm
make that his 2nd and now we need 9.
July 20, 2008 at 2:36 pm
OK, now we're back to the “hey, only 4 more 2-run HRs and we’re right back in this thing!”

this one is looking like a lost cause but a day at the park beats most anything else
July 20, 2008 at 4:10 pm
agreed, my friend. agreed.
July 20, 2008 at 5:14 pm
so now I don't know what we're going to do. A series loss to the Nationals is more than a little embarrassing. Meanwhile, the Mets keep winning.
July 20, 2008 at 6:20 pm
C'mon JB, what's up with not telling me that you were going to be at the game today?
July 20, 2008 at 7:50 pm
sorry about that Jonathan it was kind of last minute

I still haven't fully grappled with the fact that the "Merlins" are good. I just keep waiting for them to falter.
July 23, 2008 at 8:50 pm
Don't you wish that this was precisely how the year was unfolding? I'm still confused as to how this didn't happen in reality .. and can only point to injury (oh yeah, Chipper just pulled up with a hammy) as the real culprit. UGH
July 23, 2008 at 11:19 pm
yeah, Joe I really wish this was our story right now. But it was fun to pretend and play " what if". Still looking for my silver lining in all this. But at least it's baseball season! JB
