Jordan Juiced

This is horrible news.
Jordan Schafer has been suspended for 50 games for using HGH. There aren’t a lot of details behind what went on, but he’s been busted.
Who knows. He could appeal, but if you look at his minor league stats, the huge jump he made in 2007 from 2006 seems a little suspicious in light of this suspension. His OPS goes from .669 to .887 and he almost doubled his HR totals (8 to 15).
Again, who knows. There isn’t a whole lot of evidence the HGH does anything for athletic performance.
Let’s hope Kotsay’s back holds up.

This is definitely going to become a situation to watch and see how it pans out. Either way, right now, it’s looking good to have Kotsay around and we might be seeing a little more of him than originally expected.

Agreed though that Kotsay has been playing more like a star and less like a stop gap. Even getting a homer last night.
I hate to see this kinda thing happen to such a promising prospect but I think he’s young enough that he can pay his time, bounce back, and get out of the shadow.
Until then yes we all want Kotsay healthy but we still have Blanco and even Anderson if we need them.

Wow 50 games! I think the league is trying to make an example out of him. He is also pretty young so he is obviously using for performance and not anti aging. However, depending on what his hgh levels are naturally, maybe he has a aghd deficiency.
