A good day at the ballpark for Braves fans. Mike Hampton wrapped up his outing injury-free after starting the 5th having only given up 2 hits and a run. He had three strikeouts. If Hampton can give us 20 starts and pitches like he’s capable, we have the deepest rotation in the East. I say 20 starts has about 20% chance of happening. If not, we’re still pretty good. A nice situation to be in. Let’s hope Hampton continues to progress.

you mean he didn’t get struck by lightening on his way out of the dugout or spontaneously combust or anything?
Wow…I wonder if he’ll pitch this year.
Still not getting my hopes up too high.

I have a hard time believing he’ll make it to the regular season as well. I really want him to, I really do . . . but I fear that at any moment, he could break his hand while brushing his teeth or opening the refrigerator.

At first when he started getting injured, I was really optimistic about him getting back and being the all-star pitcher he once was but I just can’t find that hope anymore. Hopefully he can pitch well and stay healthy for at least part of the year, but I’m not counting on it. I’m counting on an injury or him staying healthy and not doing great this year.

The braves have got one good looking team this year, I think they are going to do very good.

Brett,
You’re right it’s hard to get high expectations when we’ve heard so much bad news about Hampton these past two years. I just keep my fingers crossed and hope for the best. At least he did well today.
Chris,
Thanks man we need all the positive energy we can get this year so we can make another division run!
