Ah, Spring. Down in Florida baseball of 2008 has fully ripened. The climate is beginning to warm up in Atlanta ready to welcome the Bravos and their new roster back home. And you can almost hear the cheers that will soon be erupting from Turner Field as you zoom by on I-75 wishing it was already April. Yes the unfolding of a fresh baseball season brings with it the revelation of…yet another blog.
This one is special though. If you’re a Braves fan that is.If you’re new to baseball blogging, we say “welcome” and we’d like to thank you for stopping by. If you’re a blogger from years past you may have visited the other site I (Jaq) ran last year. If so, thanks for coming back and welcome aboard for 2008. And no matter where you are in relation to the Braves blogosphere, we appreciate fellow baseball fanatics’ readership and input as we embark on a new season around the diamond.
A little about us. (That’s right, this blog has not one, but two authors!)I am Jaq Baldwin. An Atlanta native living in the Atlanta area for all 27 years of my life. A current score keeping Braves season ticket holder (also a Georgia Tech Yellow Jacket if it matters), I love to write about, read about, watch, and talk about baseball. More particularly Braves baseball. Last year marked my first year in Braves blogging and it went off pretty well. I only got 73 posts in and received 112 comments. But as an amateur journalist trying to squeeze my posts in between all the other demands of life, (new marriage, new job, attending as many Braves games as possible) I am proud. I’m excited this year to be teaming up with a very close friend of mine who is also a lifelong Braves fan, Mr. Brian Hedrick.I’ve enjoyed Brian’s writing and friendship through the many years we’ve known one another. Former college roommates and both groomsmen in each other’s weddings it’s a real treat for me to be blogging side by side with my good friend. Brian and his wife are now on the West Coast in Monrovia, CA but I’ll let Brian share anything else he would like for his little “bio” here.
Trust me, we’re gonna talk a lot about baseball. We’re just kicking this off.
One last note:As the 2007 season rolled along I made a new friend. I’m a little weary about telling you too much because…well…he’s a Mets fan. A HUGE Mets fan. In fact last year I began bloggin’ alongside Eddie D’Anna from Staten Island and we’ve had a lot to talk about through the season. Eddie’s a great guy who loves his Mets but welcomed friendly banter between both our camps.
Stop by his blog and watch both sides of the Mets/Braves rivalry unfold for 2008.
We’d love your comments along the way.
Well Braves fans, with Spring Training halfway over we have a lot of baseball to talk about. Personnel changes for 2008 both for the Braves and around the league. We’ve got a first pitch on March 30th in DC’s new park. We don’t need to talk steroids…yet.
So stay tuned and keep choppin’

Good to see you up and running Jaq, it has been a long winter but now the boys of summer are out tiptoeing through the daffodils of spring. Things are really looking promising for the year, and I don't envy Bobby and Frank with the job they have making the roster. Looks like they will have to send down enough good talent to make another team and I know there will be some showing up in a few weeks after the start. Flowers has been impressive with the bat which might just be the incentive that Thorman needs, like that monster granny he had Sunday. Just when I was learning to navigate your other blog you up and make this old man learn something new again. Feel bad about that! Thank goodness for MLB.TV it's like infusing young blood in these old veins, I don't miss much of the play.
